In this week’s Monthly theme lesson, the students learned about lucky money. New years is coming soon and many people will get a red envelope with money inside. Red is a lucky color and we want to give luck for 2025. 

We can use coins to get luck too! When we see a water fountain we can throw a coin inside it and make a wish. Just like a wish we make on our birthday cake candles.

Wouldn’t it be neat to have a ¥1000 coin too? The students designed what they thought would be a great ¥1000 coin. 

We had some really cool and creative coin designs made by our PAP friends. Well done everyone! We should make your coin the new coin in Japan.
