Snakes are Wetland Animals too!

Today we continued learning about animals found in the wetlands of Hokkaido. We did a hyper focus on cranes and the rat snake.

We practiced balancing like a crane. We had many friends that could balance well!

The students were able to feel and examine a real snake skin. They talked about what it looked like, felt like, and measured its size.

The snake skin measured 92 centimeters long! It was one big snake.

We learned that snakes shed their skin to keep clean and to make room for their growing body. Everyone had lots of fun making measurements with a ruler and making observations about the rat snake skin.

Excellent job future scientists!
