Oreo Moon Phases

Today in PAP with the K2 and K3 students we learned about different phases of the moon.

The moon phases are controlling the tides of our oceans! When the moon is close, the water is higher (high tide) and when the moon is far, the water is lower (low tide). We learned the names of the phases of our moon.

The moon changes size and shape when it changes phases. The full moon is the biggest and brightest. The new moon is the darkest.

We used Oreo cookies to show the different phases of the moon. It was fun to work as a team and change the icing shape in the cookie to look like each moon phase.

Everyone did great working together as a team for our Science project.

Thank you future astronauts!
