This month at Prime Academic Preschool Gotanda the students have been learning about many different kinds of rocks. We have learned about a rock’s use in the modern world and discussed how they were used in ancient times during class. Today in our Science class however, we learned about rocks that have become famous.

All over the world there are famous rocks that have either been made by people, such as Mount Rushmoore in America or created by nature like Uluru in Australia. We also tried to craft our own rocks that could become famous one day!

Students needed three main things for the craft- a rock, paint and some plastic wrap.

Students first applied the paint to the plastic wrap and covered the rock with the plastic and left it to dry. When they are finished drying it will create a beautiful art piece that can be displayed in the classroom or at home.

The students really enjoyed the activity as they love using paint and getting messy.
