Last night at Prime Academic Preschool Gotanda we continued with our social studies topic for this month – Castles and Palaces. Last week the students learned a lot about the differences between a castle and a palace. They learned what they were used for and who lived in them.

This week the students learned more about the architecture of castles. They studied the tall walls and strong materials used to build them and how they could help defend a country or important area from other people.

In class we began to build our own castles. The students started making walls and battlements that could be used to keep our school safe from invaders!

It was a great lesson. Our students always enjoy building things and being able to make something so big and cool was a great experience for them. We will continue to build our castles over the next two weeks.
