Earthquakes and Balloon Games

In the morning, the children watched an age-appropriate video about earthquakes and learned why they can be dangerous. After the video, we talked together about what we should and shouldn’t do during an earthquake, such as staying calm, protecting our heads, and listening to teachers. The students shared ideas, practiced key safety words in English, and asked thoughtful questions.

In the afternoon, we started with Keep It Up, a lively game where the children worked together to keep a balloon in the air for as long as possible. Everyone was encouraged to join in, gently tapping the balloon and cheering for their friends while practicing turn-taking and teamwork.

Next was Color Call. When a color was called, the children ran to the matching balloon. Sometimes, the group at that color had to do a fun action, which kept everyone listening carefully and moving their bodies.

We finished with Musical Chairs, where the child left standing didn’t lose, but instead had their head gently rubbed with a balloon, ending the day with laughter and smiles.
