The famous Hollywood Walk of Fame has more than 2,600 stars honoring actors, musicians, and other entertainers.
In our classroom, we know that our students shine just as brightly, so we decided to celebrate them by creating our own special stars!
First, we talked about the real Walk of Fame and discussed what those stars represent. It was a fun conversation that helped everyone understand how stars are used to celebrate talent and achievement.
Next, each child received a large gold paper star of their own. The students carefully wrote their names on their stars, doing their very best handwriting. Everyone took this task very seriously, concentrating on forming their letters neatly. It was wonderful to see the care they put into making their stars look special.
Then the children were given the opportunity to think about what they might like to be famous for one day. Would they like to be a musician? A movie star? A television performer? A theater actor?
To represent their choice, the children selected a symbol and placed it on their star.
Our students were very proud to see their finished stars displayed, and it was a wonderful reminder that every child has their own talents and dreams.
