All About Compost!

This week at Prime Academic Preschool Gotanda we headed over to our sister school Prime Ebisu to have a very interesting day full of learning, questions and stinky old food!

We had the great opportunity this week of learning all about composting from a very special group of people – NPO法人コンポスト東京
We headed over to Ebisu on the train together. The students were so well behaved. They listened nicely to their teachers in the station and were so quiet on the train.

At Prime we sat down and learned all about how compost is made and what we used it for. We had a discussion about why composting is important and better for the environment. How it prevents waste and helps us grow new food to eat.

We then had a chance to make some compost ourselves! The children loved handling all the bio-ingredients that went into our brand new composting bag! We mixed in the yeast to the dirt and then added many different things to decompose!

It was a great experience for the kids and a great message for everyone to learn. If you are interested in learning more about composting please check out their website – https://compost-tokyo.com/
