This month in Social Studies, the students at Prime Academic Preschool has been learning about rhymes. The students really enjoy Dr Seuss, so it was a great opportunity to take the learning further.

We chose the book, “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish” and read it for story time.

We talked about rhymes and looked for them as we read.

We all love the silly rhymes and colorful characters!

We picked the first few pages of this book and tried to say the rhyme with rhythm. We used our whole bodies to feel the rhythm. We practiced by clapping, stomping, jumping, and even dancing along to the beat!

As we got better and better at rhyming with rhythm, we tried rapping. Yes, rapping! Check out their pose.

We played some rap music and rapped along to Dr Seuss. The students really had a blast with this activity and showed great rhythm as they rapped.
