This week was finally the time of the K3 overnight trip! The K3 students eagerly arrived with everything they needed packed and ready. After a quick check, we boarded the bus, full of excitement for our overnight adventure.

Upon arrival, we checked into our cozy campsite. It was a bustling scene as we joined friends from Ebisu, Kamikitazawa, and Ogikubo. Everyone shared smiles and stories as we settled in and enjoyed a delicious lunch together.

The afternoon was filled with new experiences. The students tried slacklining, which tested their balance and coordination. Later, they learned to cut wood safely, an essential skill for our upcoming meal preparations.

In the evening, it was time to prepare dinner. The children helped cut vegetables and cooked a flavorful curry over a campfire. For dessert, we roasted marshmallows and made gooey, delicious s’mores—a favorite for everyone!

As the day wound down, the children took charge of setting up their futons and dressing for bed. They worked together to clean their rooms, showing responsibility and teamwork. After a good night’s sleep, the children helped prepare breakfast by using milk cartons to cook hot dogs. They loved the interactive experience and enjoyed the tasty results.

Before heading home, we spent the day at a huge park with a big slide. The students played, laughed, and explored. Lunch was a boxed meal with rice balls, followed by a treat of freshly roasted sweet potatoes, a perfect way to end the trip.

The overnight camping experience was a memorable journey filled with fun, learning, and independence. Everyone left with happy hearts and unforgettable memories!
