In our afternoon Monthly theme lesson this week we discussed money. What is money? Why do we need money? What do we buy with money? 

The students looked at both coins and bills. We can use these to buy food, clothes, toys, and books. 

Before there was money people used other items to trade and buy things. Some examples were shells, beads, fur, and gold. 

In class we used little bears as money. The students got to buy toys, school supplies and books from a shop in class using the bears as money. 

It was fun to learn about money together.
