Australia Day the PAP Way

Our preschool students had a fantastic time celebrating Australia Day! To make the day extra special, we introduced them to a unique Australian tradition—cockroach racing!

The morning started with a fun craft activity where the children created head masks to look like cockroaches. Using construction paper, glue, and their creativity, the students designed their very own insect-inspired masks. Some added winking eyes, while others placed antennae that wiggled as they moved. The younger ones also made koalas!

Once the masks were ready, it was time for some exciting games. Inspired by real Australian cockroach races, the children became the “racing cockroaches”! They ran and wiggled across the room in a series of fun and active races. laughter and cheers filled the space as the students learned to take turns and cheer for their friends.

It was a day filled with creativity, physical activity, and a fun introduction to Australian culture. These special moments help children build confidence, teamwork skills, and a love for learning in an engaging environment. For more information about school, click here.
