This month at Prime Academic Preschool Gotanda the children have been learning all about portraits in art class. Last week we tried to used our reflections to create an image of ourselves but this week both our K2s and K3s started working on something a little different.

Our K3 students used a picture of themselves taken this morning to try and make a symmetrical face. We first cut the photo in half and attached it to a large piece of construction paper. Students then tried their best to mirror their face on the other side. Some of the results were so sill and funny. The children had a lot of fun with this project.

In our K2 class we did something very different today. The students were given four phots of themselves and asked to decorate them with different colored markers. The result is a very funny and cool piece of art that will look fantastic on the walls for our upcoming art show later in the year.

The children had so much fun with these portrait art works today and we look forward to creating more fun experiences for them through the year.
