Stained Glass Art

Every week at Prime Academic Preschool our students have one or two art classes which they absolutely love. Occasionally we start a project that is a little more complicated or will just require a lot of time and these project will run over more than one lesson. This week we completed a two week project that we began before we started our Obon holiday. Stained Glass!

When we first started the class the children had to carefully cut slits into the sides of a cardboard square. The students then wrapped string around the card to create straight lines. We then carefully covered the cardboard with tin foil to create a beautiful shiny surface.

The students then decorated their foil with bright colored markers. Their instructions were to make sure that no two of the same color were touching each other on the art.

At the end of the activity the children had a bright, shiny and beautiful work of art that they cannot wait to show to all of their parents at the art show next month!
