🍂 Planting Tulip Bulbs!🌷

We continued our Seasons theme by exploring how animals and plants prepare for the fall and winter months. We learned that some animals hibernate to stay safe and warm, while others migrate to places with more food. We also talked about how many plants rest during the cold seasons so they can grow strong again in spring.

Our activity helped us experience this idea firsthand: we planted our very own tulip bulbs! Everyone used pots, plates, shovels, and soil to make a cozy little home for each bulb.

Before placing the bulbs inside, we took turns scooping and gently spreading the soil. It was exciting to feel the dirt and prepare the pots together.

We carefully added more soil, paying attention to how deep the bulbs needed to be. Everyone stayed focused and worked as a team to make sure each pot was ready.

As we continued filling the pots, we talked about how tulips rest during the cooler months and bloom beautifully in spring. The children really enjoyed seeing how nature follows a pattern each year.

Some of us worked in pairs, taking turns holding the pot steady while the other shoveled in soil. It was great teamwork and a fun hands-on way to learn.

We checked each pot to make sure the bulbs were tucked in safely, almost like putting them to bed for the winter. Everyone handled the tools very responsibly.

At the end, we all gathered together to watch the final set of bulbs being prepared. The whole group was excited to imagine what our tulips will look like when they bloom in spring!

Great job, everyone! Our classroom is now one step closer to welcoming a little bit of spring. 🌱
