Investigating the Ocean

Today at Prime Academic Preschool we had our monthly field trip! Everyone month at PAP we visit somewhere to give our students new experiences and broaden their understanding of the world. Today’s trip was to the Maritime Historical Museum in Shinagawa.

The museum was very interesting. The children were able to see a variety of different fishing tools, a large amount of animals and really feel the size of whales for the first time in their lives.

The museum was heavily focused on Japan’s rich history of whaling and had many different kinds of whale remains that we could see and be very close to. It gave the students an appreciation for the real size and power of these huge animals.

We also saw a variety of other seas life including lobsters, crabs, fish and even a polar bear! The children asked so many great questions. It was clear that they were all curious about some of the amazing animals around the world.
