In Science, we learned how different insects use camouflage to protect themselves. We discovered that camouflage helps them blend into their surroundings so predators can’t find them. Some insects look like leaves, sticks, or even flowers!
After our lesson, we created a special craft to see camouflage in action. We started with black butterfly cutouts and used pastel to color them with bright and creative designs.

Next, we glued the butterflies onto black construction paper. Then we colored the paper with pastel, blending colors around the butterfly so that it looked hidden in the background.

We noticed how the butterflies stood out at first, but then began to blend in once we added more details to the paper. It was just like real insects in nature!

This hands-on activity helped us understand how camouflage works and why it’s important for survival. We had fun creating while also learning about the amazing ways insects stay safe in the wild.

Great job, PAP! 🦋
